Introducing. . .

In many art classes, instructors highlight an artist as a way to generate ideas for the students. This is a fabulous way to learn about creating light, texture, depth, and style, of course. The masters are usually the focus of those lessons, and rightfully so. There are, however, other artists who deserve a look who have been a bit passed over. One of those artists is Anton Pieck. I became familiar with his work while I was living in Europe in the early 2000’s. His playfulness is what captured my attention and the fact that he focused on everyday scenes and fairytales. I’d like to introduce you to him a bit more and am including a wonderful article written about him in early 2018: https://owlcation.com/humanities/Anton-Pieck-The-Underappreciated-Dutch-Gem

I have also included a photo of the piece that I bought so many years ago and still love today. Enjoy!
